20 GB – Unlimited Disk Storage

As mentioned earlier, free hosting that advertises unlimited services appears to be too good to be true and some also offer unlimited bandwidth, which is the traffic in and out. However, some will not host your domain, but only allow you to create a sub-domain such as mydomain.freewebhosting.com, or sometimes offer a list of other domains onto which you can prepend your sub-domain name. If you can live with this, several have the latest control panels, with facilities and support comparable to paid hosting.

We assume that anyone with many gigabytes of data to be uploaded to a website has spent a considerable amount of time and money to compile all this data. Perhaps for testing purposes and to evaluate the hosting facilities and support, they do not need to use a TLD (Top Level Domain). Once they are satisfied with the hosting performance they would not be averse to paying for their domain and hosting

In this category, we notice that the cPanel often has a new fancy skin called VistaPanel. This might be assumed to make the appearance newer and therefore better. In fact, it seems that its prime purpose is to allow the hosting to inject adverts onto the cPanel, thus distracting the users. In our opinion, the original cPanel is better.

We note that there are independent resellers of free and paid hosting and they only add another link to the chain. This could have unfortunate results, if they go out of business. We suggest to check what they offer, especially with their support. It’s easy to make a shiny website to advertise someone else’s product, but support from those who operate the servers is what matters.

This is a USA- and UK-based hosting with a simple website offering free unlimited disk storage space, free unlimited bandwidth, free unlimited MySQL database, free unlimited domains, free unlimited subdomains, free unlimited email accounts and free (sub?)domain registration in the control panel. PHP version 7.0 is used. SSL is enabled. Free TLDs cannot be hosted. There were issues with registration, confused by their use of ihostfull.com in e-mails and after log on. It appears to be an independent reseller of similar service to the above. The website did not have secure log on, or to access the cPanel, with both using http. However, you can force it to use https for the log on and the cPanel, otherwise we could not recommend using this hosting.

This is another USA-based hosting with an attractive clean website offering free unlimited disk storage space and free unlimited bandwidth, 2 domains, 2 subdomains, 2 MySQL databases, email accounts. It looks attractive and better organised than some of the other unlimited hosting, but registration is presently blocked from several countries and ISPs. If you only want to have one or two sites, it will be worth checking out, if you are accepted.

This Indian hosting has an attractive well-organised website offering free unlimited disk storage space, free unlimited bandwidth, free unlimited subdomains, unlimited databases and unlimited emails, but does not accept add-on domains. Previously only offering PHP 5 and was suspended, a recent check shows PHP 7 and 8, MySQL 5, cPanel, FTP and no ads.
